Welcome to the Southern Farmers Market

The Southern Farmers Market operates from Southland Boys High School in Herbert Street, Invercargill. The Market is open every Sunday morning from 9.30am through to 12.30pm throughout the year. The aim of the Market is to bring fresh local products to the people of Southland.

Currently we have about 20 stalls operating at the market, with the stalls offering a range of products from Cupcakes, Bread to Wild Venison and Fresh Fish.

Seasonal product such as orchard fresh stone and pip fruits, farm fresh vegetables and cut flowers are also available.

So What is a Farmers Market?

The New Zealand Farmers Market Association defines a Farmers Market as 'a food market where local growers, farmers and artisan food producers sell their wares directly to consumers. Vendors sell what they grow, farm, pickle, preserve, bake, smoke or catch themselves from within a defined local area. The market takes place at a public location on a regular basis'.
